Definition of BMS protocols

Building management system protocols allow a number of advantages here are their particularities

LonWorks

LonWorks is a fieldbus communication technique. The LonTalk protocol, a standard recognized by the EIA, by Europe, was designed by the American company Echelon Corporation in the 1990s, founded by Mike Markkula who designed, manufactures and markets electronic chips. Tens of thousands of different products worldwide (more than 150 million nodes integrated).

We like to use it…

the technology is increasingly used in energy management systems, particularly to reduce energy consumption and at the same time reduce the cost and frequency of maintenance.

Multisector

The protocol, historically referred to as LonTalk, implements all seven layers of the ISO/OSI stack and is now an international standard as ISO/IEC 14908. After the rapid spread of building automation systems, particularly in air conditioning and heating, access control, alarm and fire lighting systems, LonWorks technology itself was then also implemented in industrial sectors, smart metering systems and now in home automation and l automation of public lighting systems.

Anti-owner

One of the advantages of using the LonWorks protocol is its flexibility with numerous functions for almost all networking possibilities of different complexity. This is especially the case in building technology: in the continuous system, all tasks are solved by interoperable devices, without disruption of technology.

BACnet

BACnet “Building Automation and Control Networks” is a data transfer protocol for building automation and building control. BACnet facilitates communication between products from different manufacturers in building automation.

KNX

KNX, also known as Konnex, is a fieldbus and building automation protocol.

KNX was born from the merger of EHS, EIB and Bâtibus standards at the initiative of manufacturers. This initiative was taken to meet the need for a standard allowing interoperability between several manufacturers.
