Over the past few years, the IoT has become one of the most important technologies of the 21st century. Now that we can connect everyday objects (household appliances, cars, thermostats, baby monitors) to the Internet through integrated terminals, seamless communications are possible between people, processes and objects.

IzoT technology allows products to communicate simultaneously in LonWorks® and BACnet-IP using specific routers, including the Octopus models from Occitaline.

All major standardized communication protocols have been around since 1990.

The protocols have “wired” “wireless” and “Ethernet/IP” solutions 3 protocols are standardized:
-BACnet (ISO 16484-5)
-KNX(ISO 14543-3)
-LonWorks (ISO 14908-1)

It is customary to associate protocols with applications/businesses, thus Bacnet is oriented towards buildings, KNX for residential purposes, as for LonWorks, it makes it possible to manage all businesses/applications.

LonWorks is a fieldbus communication technique. The LonTalk protocol, a standard recognized by the EIA, by Europe, was designed by the American company Echelon Corporation in the 1990s, founded by Mike Markkula who designs, manufactures and markets electronic chips.

BACnet “Building Automation and Control Networks” is a data transfer protocol for building automation and building control. BACnet facilitates communication between products from different manufacturers in building automation.

KNX, also known as Konnex, is a fieldbus and building automation protocol.
KNX was born from the merger of EHS, EIB and Bâtibus standards at the initiative of manufacturers. This initiative is due to the need for a standard allowing interoperability between several manufacturers.

Babi-LON is the most economical IP solution on the market: communication on twisted pair media consumes 2 to 6 times less than the solution on Ethernet/IP.

Babi-LON can be used by any manufacturer, for this Occitaline and Safesquare provide flexible licensing models and support services, such as user and programming training

-Cortex M4, operation on FreeRTOS with wired connection (requires specific Octopus type routers from Occitaline)
-Ethernet + FreeRTOS
-Linux over Ethernet
